Opus '78 Concert @Erasmus Huis, Jakarta

Yes, the concert has done. Like the two previous ones I joined, still it was a bit thrilling when you go entering the stage (who doesn't?). Actually I am now considering not to take any solo performance in some concerts ahead, lol.

Last concert was held in Erasmus Huis building, a Netherland's embassy in Jakarta. Not as comfortable as Goethe Institute (a Deutcsh's), perhaps caused by its confusing parking lot thing and a complicated security checking. Nevertheless, the acoustic of the room is definitely great. Big sound, warm silence, and good ambience.

I think there's not much to say about the players' performance. We've practiced for about 3 or 4 months, so a good performance is a must (I think that's why I'm thinking to decide not to play solo in the future concerts, I believe I haven't met that condition yet, still need to breathe, practice, and learn more). Most of players played really well, so did the ensemble part. The unique and pleasing part is a roses bouquet bestowment from guitarfellows, audience, and families. All performers were given rose by them.

Next event is on July 12th 2010 at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta (GKJ), we have only 7 sessions of practicing. The Opus Baywalk (Danny, Edwin, n me) is planned to play a trio, still haven't decided which song/composition is gonna be played but the scores are all set already. So, really need to practice harder..really do.

By the way, the Erasmus event was noted by a local newspaper "KORAN JAKARTA" (May 30th 2010 edition). So, for you guys who haven't got the sheet and curious to know what's written there, here it is.

scanned and uploaded by my friend, check his blog out -> http://iwingmusic.wordpress.com

Will update the picture soon...

See you at GKJ

tennis, a major and merchant's sport

did you know?
Tennis was developed by a city major and his friend, a merchant, in UK. It was in the late of 19th century
.
---------------

I've started to play tennis at the age of 11 years old. I was really really a little kid back then. Me, two of my brothers, and another boys were coached by Mr. John F Waney and a coach whose name I can't remember.

From 11 to 14 years old I participated in several tournaments (without
winning any, hehe). I think one of the tournament was a youth national event in Ujung Pandang (now Makassar)

Anyway, here's a pic I've found last year in my parent's room. So I took it, pinned it on my cubicle wall, and scanned it...

really miss those old days..really miss you guys.
---------------
cool facts about tennis:
- in tennis, zero point is called "love", an adapted French word "l'oeuf" means egg (zero looks like an egg, doesn't it?)
- a scoring system (15, 30, 40, game) is taken from every quarter in one hour, 15, 30, 45, 60 but with a changing from 45 to 40 due to syllable dissimilarity.
