Variety is Third full-length album from Japanese Band Tokyo Jihen, released on September 26, 2007, this time featuring a little something new. All compositions carefully selected from the vast number of demos created by the band, with the lyrics for nine of the thirteen songs written by Ringo Shiina herself.
Includes 13 songs total with seven tracks from guitarist Ukigumo, five
tracks from keyboard player Ichiyo Izawa, and one composed by bassist Seiji Kameda.

I really enjoy listening to Tokyo
Jihen’s songs. Their compositions are like having my imagination of how
a song should be arranged become real into something I can hear
eventually. Despite generally I think this album is not as good as
their previous one “Adult”, Shiina Ringo is undoubtly one of a damn
genious musician in the planet. She is also good at choosing players to
play with. Izawa Ichioyu (keyboard) and Ukigumo proved that they do
deserve a place in the band. Listen to the song called “Killer Tune”
where Ukigumo put some nice riffs at the chorus. By the way, another
song called “OSCA” really reminds us of RHCP, doesn’t it? This song is
just too cool, and the video clip either

Essential songs: OSCA, Killer Tune, Shiseikatsu, Mirror Ball
